News: Wisler was reassigned to triple-A camp Sunday, UT San Diego reports.
Impact: Wisler had a chance to earn the fifth starter job for the Padres, but his demotion rules him out of that job, at least to start the season. In five innings of spring ball, he allowed nine runs, which possibly showed he's not quite ready to start in the big leagues. Wisler is still one of the Padres' top pitching prospects, and will likely become a starter for them in the future.

News: Wisler will compete for the fifth spot in the Padres' rotation along with Brandon Morrow, Odrisamer Despaigne, and Robbie Erlin, Denis Lin of the San Diego Union Tribune reports.
Impact: Wisler is a 22-year-old right hander who spent last season at Double-A and Triple-A. He had some trouble adjusting to Triple-A competition in 2014, posting a 5.01 ERA and 1.5 HR/9 rate over 22 starts for the El Paso Chihuahuas of the Pacific Coast League. If Wisler is unable to win the fifth spot, he'll likely start the season at Triple-A.
