News: Wieters (elbow) is on schedule and doctors say there is a "good chance" he'll be ready for Opening Day, Eduardo A. Encina of the Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact: The 28-year-old was just recently cleared to begin a light throwing program after a follow-up with Dr. James Andrews, who performed his Tommy John surgery in May. His progress in the months ahead will ultimately determine his availability for the start of the regular season, but if Wieters isn't quite ready, Caleb Joseph would likely serve as the Opening Day starter behind the plate for Baltimore.

News: Wieters (elbow) has begun a light throwing program after Dr. James Andrews gave him a green light in mid-November, MASN Sports reports.
Impact: Wieters is targeting a return on Opening Day and that has been the plan after he had Tommy John surgery in June. Wieters enters his final year under team control in 2015 and he will certainly be motivated in a contract year.
