News: Suzuki is hitting .391 (9-for-23) this spring and looks set to get the bulk of work behind the plate for Minnesota.
Impact: The Twins are undecided on the backup catcher spot between Josmil Pinto, Chris Herrmann and Eric Fryer. Pinto suffered a concussion Saturday, which could put him on the DL to begin the season. Pinto has the most upside at the plate to potentially take playing time away from Suzuki, but there's been no talk of reducing Suzuki's role this spring. However, Suzuki is a candidate to decline at the plate as his career resurgence last season was likely fueled by a career-high .315 BABIP and he also hit just .253/.313/.362 after the All-Star break.
