News: Profar is expected to miss the 2015 season after having surgery to repair a tear in his labrum Monday, but it's possible that he will make a late-season return, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Impact: Profar had been making progress in his recovery before suffering his latest setback, and it was a big one. The 22-year-old shortstop missed all of 2014 due to a shoulder injury, and it appears the same may be on tap for 2015. Profar was considered one of baseball's top prospects before the injury, but the level of production he will return to when healthy is understandably unclear. He will undergo an MRI in four months, and his expected timeline for throwing again is about a year, reinforcing the expectations of him missing the entire campaign.
