News: Hanrahan will undergo a second Tommy John surgery, and he has been released by the Tigers, Anthony Fenech of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact: Previously in camp as a non-roster invitee on a minor league deal, Hanrahan now faces a long recovery and the injury may even prove to be a career-ending one depending on how he progresses through his rehab. Most likely, it will take Hanrahan longer than the typical 12-month minimum to work his way back into game situations again.

News: Hanrahan (elbow) is traveling to Texas to have his arm examined by Dr. Keith Meister, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.
Impact: The Tigers shut Hanrahan down over a week ago, and it appears as though he'll be unavailable to begin the season as he's been experiencing a few different types of pain in his arm. The result of Hanrahan's visit with Dr. Meister should shed some light on the extent of the problem.
