News: Peavy re-signed with the Giants on Friday on a two-year, $24 million contract, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.
Impact: After a rotten start to the season with Boston, Peavy was spectacular after landing in San Francisco in late July, posting a 2.17 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over his 12 regular-season starts with the Giants. Though his strikeout rate plummeted to a career-worst 7.02 K/9 last season, Peavy's ability to limit his walks and play to the favorable dimensions of AT&T Park could allow him to find continued success with the Giants.

News: Peavy has agreed to a $24 million, two-year contract to stay with the World Series champion San Francisco Giants.
Impact: Peavy gets a $4 million signing bonus, $7 million next season and $13 million in 2016. The deal includes a full no-trade provision and award bonuses. A 33-year-old right-hander, Peavy helped Boston win the 2013 World Series, was traded to San Francisco on July 26 and won another championship with the Giants.
