News: Kinsler is hoping to use the opposite field more consistently in 2015 after 170 of his 188 hits last season were hit up the middle or to left field, the Detroit News reports.
Impact: In addition to using the opposite field more frequently, Kinsler is hoping to draw more walks after taking a free pass just 29 times in 726 trips to the plate in 2014. The Tigers are planning on using Kinsler as a leadoff option against right-handed starters, and as their likely No. 2 hitter against lefties when Rajai Davis slots into the top spot.

News: Kinsler is the current frontrunner to lead off for the Tigers against right-handed pitching, the Detroit News reports.
Impact: With Rajai Davis positioned to play against left-handed starters, Kinsler would likely move into the No. 2 hole against southpaws. After posting a .307 OBP last season, Kinsler will need to show better plate discipline (29 walks in 726 plate appearances in 2014) in order to remain a viable option atop the lineup in Detroit.
