The 31-year-old Blanco has played at least 141 games in each of his three seasons with San Francisco. He batted .260 with five home runs, six triples, 18 doubles and 38 RBIs in 146 games last season. News: Blanco agreed to a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Giants on Sunday, avoiding arbitration, the San Francisico Chronicle reports.
Impact: Blanco's final two years of arbitration are now taken care of with his new contract. The 31-year-old outfielder will earn $3.6 million in 2015 and $3.9 million in 2016, according to the report. Blanco put up another consistent season in 2014, batting .260/.333/.374 with five home runs and 38 RBI. He drew a good amount of walks (41) again last season, and limited his strikeouts to just 77 over 393 at-bats. He also displayed his abilities on the basepaths, nabbing double-digit bases for the fourth time in the last five seasons. There's no reason to suggest his numbers won't be similar in 2015, assuming he receives similar playing time, but the recent signing of Norichika Aoki could cut into his opportunities.
