The Chicago Cubs won the National League pennant Saturday night and will go to their first World Series since 1945. As Wrigley Field erupted in joy, one man in particular was on a lot of people's minds: Steve Bartman.
Bartman, of course, became a Chicago villain when he found himself at the center of a scandal in Game 6 of the 2003 NLCS. Bartman interfered with a foul ball in the eighth inning at Wrigley Field, preventing the Cubs' Moises Alou from catching it, and the Cubs went on to lose the NLCS. All of it was blamed on Bartman, and the backlash became so bad that he went into hiding and hasn't been heard from since.
