The Rays get in on the recent garden gnome giveaway trend with this Maddon figurine, which will go to the first 10,000 fans on April 24. The Rays will also pay tribute to their honorary mascot, David Price's bulldog Astro, who accompanies the pitcher everywhere and even has his own Twitter account. Fans 14 years old and younger will get the bobblehead while supplies last on April 21.
On June 8, the D-backs will distribute an Aaron Hill #BiCycle Bobblehead to honor the player who hit for the cycle twice last season. Other Snakes bobbleheads will feature fan favorites Paul Goldschmidt (Aug. 10) and Miguel Montero (Sept. 14); the latter will be given away on Hispanic Heritage Day.
In honor of second baseman Darwin Barney's 2012 Gold Glove award, the Chicago Cubs are giving away 10,000 Barney bobbleheads on June 1. All of the figurines will feature Barney wearing a gold glove on his left hand, but 1,000 of them are special-edition and are fully encased in gold. Fans will receive the all-gold bobbleheads randomly.
Los Angeles Dodgers
In celebration of Jackie Robinson’s 94th Birthday, the Dodgers will give away a Jackie Robinson, Don Newcombe and Roy Campanella statue. The statue, which features Robinson and his legendary teammates, will be distributed on April 15, Jackie Robinson Day, to the first 40,000 fans with a ticket.
Los Angeles Angels
The Angels will have five giveaways of merchandise featuring their 2012 AL Rookie of the Year Mike Trout. Fans can get a Mike Trout blanket on April 11; a bobblehead depicting his spectacular catch from last season (pictured) on April 13; a Trout pint glass on May 21; a Trout fish hat on June 18; and a jersey on Aug. 3.
From the sublime to the ridiculously sublime. The Brewers are increasing the number of bobblehead nights from the traditional six to 10 for 2013. The 10 will include four active players, including superstar Ryan Braun (May 26), five alumni, including Hank Aaron, who played for the Milwaukee — and then Atlanta — Braves from 1954 to 1974 and then the Milwaukee Brewers from '75-76 and a racing sausage. The Aaron bobblehead will be given away on July 7. The Polish Sausage will be given away on June 23.
The Okland A’s will give away this Coco Crisp bobblehead on June 29 to the first 10,000 fans. During the team's improbable run last season, Crisp introduced the “Bernie Lean” — a dance originated in the movie “Weekend at Bernie’s — to his teammates. The A’s even made their own video with it. Little Coco's leaning torso bobbles back and forth performing the Bernie dance.
Go incognito with the Mariners' Beard Hat. On April 26 (College Night) the first 20,000 fans will receive this dual-purpose headwear. According to the M's (via MLB.com): "It's a ski cap, it's faux facial hair and it's the first ever Mariners beard hat, the must-have fashion accessory of the year."
