News: Scribner struggled Friday, allowing three earned runs over two innings.
Impact: Scribner continues to struggle with home runs, allowing two-run shots to Nelson Cruz and Brad Miller. He has now allowed nine home runs in only 42 innings. After a great start to the season that saw his ERA sitting at 2.20 through May, Scribner has now allowed 10 earned runs in his last 13.1 innings. He was once thought to be the next in line to close if Tyler Clippard got dealt, but now one would think he would be part of a committee at best with his current form.

News: Scribner took the loss after giving up two runs on two hits and recorded just one out after entering the game in the eighth inning Friday night.
Impact: A pair of solo homers from Mike Trout and Kole Calhoun put the Angels on top, snatching a win away from A's starter Jesse Chavez in the process. Overall, Scribner has been one of the best arms in an otherwise disappointing Oakland bullpen, having posted a 37:3 K:BB ratio, 3.21 ERA and 0.98 WHIP over 33.2 innings this season.
