News: Johnson suffered a moderate oblique strain last week, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Impact: Johnson is considered day-to-day for the time being, so he should be able to return before the start of the season. The 25-year-old made five appearances in the big leagues in 2014 but he'll likely begin the year in the starting rotation with Triple-A Charlotte.

News: Johnson has been working on his mechanics this spring with the goal of making his motion more consistent and repeatable, the White Sox's official site reports.
Impact: Johnson was supposed to take the "next step" in 2014, but he flopped in the major league rotation and then struggled in 100+ innings at Triple-A Charlotte. He believes faulty mechanics were partly the cause for those problems, and he is working with the big league coaches to correct those issues. There probably is not a spot for him in the Sox's rotation to start the season even if he does turn it around. However, he could be a sneaky play if he comes up as an injury replacement at some point.
