News: Tillman and the Orioles agreed to terms on a one-year, $6.225 million deal Friday, avoiding arbitration, the Baltimore Sun reports.
Impact: Tillman made 31 starts last season, throwing 173 innings and posting a 4.99 ERA. It was a departure from the success he'd found over the previous three seasons, when he posted sub-four ERAs. Regardless, he'll jump up nearly $2 million in salary after making $4.315 million in 2015. Tillman has one more year of arbitration eligibility before hitting free agency following the 2017 season.
