News: Cecil (calf) agreed to a one-year, $3.8 million deal with the Blue Jays on Friday, avoiding arbitration, the Toronto Star's Brendan Kennedy reports.
Impact: Even if the Blue Jays transition Roberto Osuna back to the rotation, which would require some more seasoning in the minors, the bullpen is still pretty loaded. Drew Storen figures to open the year as the closer, with Cecil and Aaron Sanchez serving as matchup-oriented setup men capable of missing bats and posting excellent ratios. He should be ready for spring training after tearing his left calf in the playoffs.
