News: McCarthy's deal with the Dodgers has been finalized, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports.
Impact: There was a slight delay in finalizing the deal after McCarthy had reportedly agreed to the contract with the Dodgers on Wednesday. McCarthy will open the season as the team's No. 4 starter, while looking to build off of a very good 2014 campaign that included an increased strikeout rate when he returned to throwing his cutter after being acquired by the Yankees mid-season.

News: McCarthy has signed with the Dodgers for what is believed to be a four-year, $48 million deal, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports reports.
Impact: On a day where the Dodgers stole the show at the Winter Meetings with all kinds of wheeling and dealing, they closed the day by getting a veteran to serve as a likely fourth or fifth starter. McCarthy seems nowhere near the pitcher he was with the A's a few years back, but he's also had injuries and has been constantly on the move. Perhaps a stable setting in a great pitcher's park with some aces ahead of him takes the pressure off and gets his career on course again.
