News: Kintzler (knee) signed a one-year contract with the Brewers on Tuesday, avoiding arbitration, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact: Kintzler battled neck, shoulder and knee issues last season, with surgery needed in September to repair a left patella issue that had bothered him for close to two years, but the right-hander performed admirably when healthy. He posted a 3.24 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over 58.1 innings, and will likely work in the middle innings again in 2015.

News: Kintzler will undergo surgery on his left patella Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Impact: Kintzler has apparently been bothered by nagging knee soreness for the past two years, so he'll finally undergo corrective surgery at the conclusion of the 2014 season. It's currently unclear how this will affect his outlook heading into 2015, but given his health, he should be able to lock down a bullpen spot in the majors.
