News: Gomes registered a 3.68 ERA and 1.295 WHIP in 29.1 innings during the first half of the 2015 season.
Impact: The 30-year-old has been an above-average pitcher since the start of the 2014 season with Tampa Bay with a 104 ERA+ in 63.1 innings. The Rays' bullpen remains extremely crowded at the top though, so it's unlikely Gomes will advance above his current role as the reliever in the sixth or seventh innings.
Rotowire: May 20 / 9:03a ET
News: Gomes has looked sharp so far in 2015, putting up a 1.93 ERA and 1.07 WHIP across 14 innings.
Impact: As well as Gomes has pitched, the Rays are unlikely to use him in a high-leverage role anytime soon. His stuff (8.4 K/9, 1.9 BB/9) has been impressive enough, but Tampa Bay has too many other options for the the ninth inning to reasonably think Gomes has a shot at a job with real fantasy value.
