Cardinals option OF Charlie Tilson to Memphis

ST. LOUIS — The Cardinals did some more whittling of their spring roster Monday afternoon, optioning outfielder Charlie Tilson to Triple A Memphis after their loss to the Twins.

Tilson, 23, has appeared in eight Grapefruit League games and has a team-high five stolen bases.

The club’s spring training roster now stands at 49 players, including 12 non-roster invitees. It includes 24 pitchers (four non-roster), five catchers (two non-roster), 13 infielders (four non-roster) and seven outfielders (two non-roster).
