Tage Thompson, the St. Louis Blues' first-round draft pick (26th overall) in 2016, has been signed to a three-year, entry-level contract. The contract will begin next season.

Thompson will report to the Blues' American Hockey League affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

Thompson, 19, led UConn with 19 goals and 32 points overall in 34 games as a sophomore with the Huskies.  Internationally, the 6-foot-5, 200-pound forward has collected two gold medals with Team USA, including the 2017 U-20 World Junior Championship.

Thompson is the son of former NHL defenseman and Peoria Rivermen head coach Brent Thompson.
