ST. LOUIS — Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo could return to the ice for the St. Louis Blues soon after the team activated him from injured reserve on Thursday.
The Blues announced Bortuzzo, who joined the team for practice on Monday, would not dress for Thursday’s matchup against the San Jose Sharks, however.
On Monday, head coach Ken Hitchcock alluded to the defenseman’s return when he said Bortuzzo would "be a player this week."
Bortuzzo, 27, was injured in the Blues’ shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Oct. 27. He was placed on injured reserve shortly thereafter with a lower-body injury. The defenseman missed nine games due to the injury.
