Blues recall forward Dmitrij Jaskin from Peoria

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has recalled forward Dmitrij Jaskin (dih-MEE-tree YEAH-skihn) from the Blues’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Peoria Rivermen.

Jaskin, 20, dressed in 51 games for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s (QMJHL) Moncton Wildcats this season leading the club and ranking 5th league-wide with 99 points including 46 goals and 53 assists to go along with 73 penalty minutes.  In addition, the 6’3, 205-pound forward was named the QMJHL’s first star of the month for November 2012 and January 2013 while he also earned first star of the week honors for consecutive weeks in January.  Prior to 2012-13, Jaskin spent two seasons with Slavia Praha HC of the Czech Extraleague posting 12 points (four goals, eight assists) and 32 penalty minutes in 63 career games.

The Omsk, Russia native was drafted by the Blues in the second round, 41st overall, of the 2011 Entry Draft.
