ST. LOUIS – Ian Cole didn’t get a lot of playing time in St. Louis last season, but the Blues think enough of him that they re-signed the defenseman to a two-year contract today.
Cole, 24, played in 15 games for the Blues last season, posting one assist and 10 penalty minutes. He was more active in Peoria, where he appeared in 34 games for the Blues’ former AHL affiliate. He produced 14 points for the Rivermen on three goals and 11 assists, along with 43 penalty minutes.
Cole, a first-round Blues draft pick in 2007, has played in three NHL seasons, recording 11 points and 67 penalty minutes in 67 career games spanning three NHL seasons.
