Shockers' bench chips in for 87-57 win over Southern Nazarene

WICHITA, Kan. -- Shaquille Morris scored 15 points, Zach Brown added 13 and Wichita State beat Division II-member Southern Nazarene 87-57 on Tuesday night.

Wichita State had five players score in double figures and its bench had 61 of the team's 87 points.

Markis McDuffie hit a 3-pointer to give Wichita State a 17-3 lead and the Shockers scored the final six points of the first half for a 50-24 lead. Landry Shamet also had two 3-pointers during the game-opening run.

Wichita State finished by making 52 percent of its field goals, including 8 of 18 3-pointers.

Shamet, McDuffie and Darral Willis Jr. each scored 11 points for Wichita State (5-2). Willis had a team-high nine rebounds as the Shockers controlled the glass 44-28.

Deshon Portley led Southern Nazarene with 16 points. The Crimson Storm was held to 33 percent shooting and turned it over 17 times.
