The Triple Crown won't be on the line in Saturday's Belmont Stakes. That didn't prevent the trainers and owners from filling up the starting gate for the 1 1/2-mile final leg of the Triple Crown. Here's a look at how the field stacks up in post position order:

DAY AT THE RACES

See all the best sights and action from the Preakness.

1. Frac Daddy

Trainer: K. McPeek

Jockey: A. Garcia

Odds: 30-1

Comment: Finished 16th in the Kentucky Derby. Only reason he won’t duplicate that effort is there are 14 horses in here.

2. Freedom Child

Trainer: T. Albertrani

Jockey: L. Saez

Odds: 8-1

Comment: Comes off a huge win in the Peter Pan over a muddy surface. That was by far the best race of his career. Can he come right back with another big effort or will he bounce?

3. Overanalyze

Trainer: T. Pletcher

Jockey: J. Velazquez

Odds: 12-1

Comment: Arkansas Derby winner came up empty in the Kentucky Derby. Has been freshened and would have a shot if he returns to his big win in Arkansas, where he defeated Oxbow.

Preakness Stakes Joel Rosario on Orb

Kentucky Derby winner Orb is one of the Belmont favorites.

Winslow Townson

4. Giant Finish

Trainer: A. Dutrow

Jockey: E. Prado

Odds: 30-1

Comment: Was well up the track in the Derby. Past performances give no reason to expect a better effort here.

5. Orb

Trainer: C. McGaughey III

Jockey: J. Rosario

Odds: 3-1

Comment: The Derby winner couldn’t close into the slow Preakness fractions. Expect a better effort here, but he is not a lock by any means.

6. Incognito

Trainer: K. McLaughlin

Jockey: I. Ortiz Jr.

Odds: 20-1

Comment: Couldn’t handle Freedom Child in the Peter Pan. Meets Freedom Child again and the rest of the field is even tougher.

Preakness Stakes Gary Stevens on Oxbow

Preakness winner Oxbow will look to make it two straight Triple Crown victories.

Paul Frederiksen

7. Oxbow

Trainer: D.W. Lukas

Jockey: G. Stevens

Odds: 5-1

Comment: He won’t get away with the soft fractions set in the Preakness. That said, Stevens can still control the pace and turn this marathon into a sprint.

8. Midnight Taboo

Trainer: T. Pletcher

Jockey: G. Gomez

Odds: 30-1

Comment: Has one win in three career starts. Don’t expect Midnight Taboo to up his batting average to .500 here.

9. Revolutionary

Trainer: T. Pletcher

Jockey: J. Castellano

Odds: 9-2

Comment: Freshened after finishing third in the Derby. The added distance should help. Expect him to be running late and charging.

Kentucky Derby Revolutionary

The extra distance in the Belmont Stakes should be a plus for Revolutionary.

Andy Lyons

10. Will Take Charge

Trainer: D.W. Lukas

Jockey: J. Court

Odds: 20-1

Comment: Expected bigger effort in the Preakness. Was he another horse compromised by the slow pace?

11. Vyjack

Trainer: R. Rodriguez

Jockey: J. Leparoux

Odds: 20-1

Comment: Was way, way, way up the track in Kentucky, finishing 18th. Put in a strong workout for this race.

12. Palace Malice

Trainer: T. Pletcher

Jockey: M. Smith

Odds: 15-1

Comment: Stirred up the Derby with wild early fractions. His presence will keep Oxbow honest and make certain that the race isn’t stolen on the front end.

HAT HOTTIES

The racing is great, but the fans put on the real show at the Kentucky Derby.

13. Unlimited Budget

Trainer: T. Pletcher

Jockey: R. Napravnik

Odds: 8-1

Comment: Rosie rides a filly. Storybook stuff. Too bad this is a horse race, not a fairytale.

14. Golden Soul

Trainer: D. Stewart

Jockey: R. Albarado

Odds: 10-1

Comment: Was one of the longest shots in the Derby and rallied nicely for second-place finish. The outside post doesn’t help here. Still figures to be closing. Wouldn’t be a shock, but still would be a surprise to see him in the winner’s circle.
