(from Canterbury Park notes)
Trainer Jerry Dobbs, who has one of the hottest stables at Canterbury Park, will attempt to keep the fire burning with an equally hot jockey Buck Harris, who rides Wadsworth in the $100,000 Claiming Crown Rapid Transit on Saturday.

Dobbs won four races on Sunday for a total of seven victories during the weekend.

Current owner Ron Walker purchased Wadsworth, the son of Lord Carson, because the horse is a half-brother to the venerable Dobbs trainee Cleat, who has won more than $136,000 and ran fourth to Al's Dearly Bred in the 2001 Claiming Crown Emerald.

Wadsworth had seen grass action this meet, running fifth in the Honor the Hero Turf Express and followed that up with a fourth in the Brooks Fields Stakes to Don'tbotherknocking and Emerald starter Our Best Man.

"He gradually got better here," Dobbs said. "I think he likes the grass better than the dirt."

However, in his most recent start, Wadworth was no slouch on the dirt, running second to fellow Rapid Transit runner Ceetoit in a six-furlong allowance on June 28. Wadsworth defeated fellow Transit starters Trampus Too by a neck and Orange 'Em by ten lengths in that race.

He and Harris will start from post seven, one outside of Malibu Stakes (gr. I) winner Debonair Joe in the 6 1/2- furlong Rapid Transit. Bensalem, ridden by Jose Flores, is the 2-1 morning line choice in the 10-horse field.
