Ten set to challenge I'll Have Another

Six horses that ran in the Kentucky Derby are back to battle in the Preakness Stakes.

The speedy Bodemeister will be joined by nine other colts in looking to prevent I'll Have Another from continuing his quest to become racing's first Triple Crown winner since 1978.

Pimlico Race Course announced Wednesday an 11-horse field for Saturday's 137th Preakness Stakes at the Baltimore racetrack, highlighted by the first and second-place finishers from the Kentucky Derby, I'll Have Another and Bodemeister.

Went The Day Well, who was a fast-closing fourth in the Run for the Roses, will be joined in the starting gate by fellow Derby runners Creative Cause, Optimizer and Daddy Nose Best.

The five other entrants for the 1-3/16-mile contest are Cozzetti, Pretension, Teeth of the Dog, Tiger Walk and Zetterholm. The post positions will be drawn at 6 ET at Pimlico.

Bodemeister, who set a blistering pace in the Derby before being collared in deep stretch by I'll Have Another, is expected to be the slight morning-line favorite.

Big Brown was the last horse to win the first two legs of the Triple Crown, in 2008. He finished last in the final leg, the Belmont Stakes.
