NEW YORK (AP)

Jockey Luis Saez has been cleared by the New York State Gaming Commission of accusations from a trainer that he used an electrical device in the Travers Stakes.

Saez rode Will Take Charge to a nose victory in the $1 million Travers at Saratoga on Aug. 24. Eric Guillot, who trained runner-up Moreno, alleged that Saez carried an electrical device during the race to shock or jolt Will Take Charge into running faster. That would violated gaming commission rules and carry possible criminal violations.

Guillot presented a video replay of the Travers recorded on a mobile device. The commission concluded ''Mr. Saez was not carrying any sort of electrical device and that Mr. Guillot's allegation was wholly unsubstantiated,'' according to its report released Friday.

Saez said in a statement through his attorney he was confident all along that his name would be cleared because he did nothing wrong.
