ARCADIA, Calif. (AP)

Iotapa beat Let Faith Arise by 1-3/4 lengths Saturday in the $200,000 Santa Maria Stakes at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Joe Talamo, the 4-year-old filly ran 1-1/16 miles in 1:42.30 and paid $6.40 for her fourth victory in eight starts.

''We were going pretty slow and that was kind of our plan, to take her to the lead, Talamo said. ''She showed a lot of class today. . . . She's never been worse than third, and she's run some great races. Looking for a big year from her.''

Stanwyk finished third.

The win, worth $120,000, increasing Iotapa's earnings to $363,490.

Alsoe, On the Backstreets rallied to win the $75,000 Sweet Life Stakes for 3-year-old fillies by 2-1/4 lengths.

Ridden by Rafael Bejarano, On the Backstreets ran 6-1/2 furlongs in 1:12:44 and paid $5.80. Famous Alice was second, and Smoove finished third.

The win, worth, $46,260, raised On the Backstreets' earnings to $118,510.
