Bob Baffert-trained Bayern won the $58,000 feature race at Santa Anita on Thursday in a runaway 15-length victory that could have the 3-year-old pointed toward the Kentucky Derby.

Time after time, Hollywood has shown a racetrack is a great place to tell a compelling story. We look at 10 must-see horse racing movies.

Jockey Gary Stevens said the heavily favored Bayern ''exploded'' when urged at the eighth pole in the mile feature.

Bayern finished in 1:35.770 for his second victory in two career starts and pushed his earning to $68,400. He returned $3.20 on a $2 win bet. Tap It Rich was second, and Brother Soldier finished third.

Baffert, who saddled the last of his three Kentucky Derby winners in 2002, said Bayern's performance is the kind that ''gets your hopes up,'' but wants to make sure the colt gets plenty of rest after the romp.
