Menards Infiniti Pro Series driver Jay Drake may be a series rookie by definition, but as he prepares to return to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for his second Futaba Freedom 100, Drake will carry the confidence of a veteran with him. After finishing a solid fourth in his series debut at the facility in 2004, Drake will seek his first series victory in the Futaba Freedom 100 on May 27. "We're looking forward to returning to the speedway for this year's race," Drake said. "I learned a lot by competing last year, and I think that experience will definitely help me in this year's event. It's also exciting to be able to go into this year's race with my new team, Vision Racing. We've been together since the start of the season, and I think that we've been able to build a great foundation to work from. That stability will help us perform well at Indianapolis this month." Drake, who competes in the No. 20 car in the Menards Infiniti Pro Series for Vision Racing, has had a strong start to the 2005 racing season. Posting a season-best series finish of fifth at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he is currently ninth in series points. In addition to his MIPS efforts, Drake also pilots the No. 21 USAC National Sprint Car and the No. 22 USAC Silver Crown Series entries for Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises. The defending USAC National Sprint Car Series Champion, Drake currently leads the series points. Drake and the No. 20 team are sponsored by Vision Racing and TrulyMovingPictures.org.
