Notes:
  • Tyler Walker will pilot the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge for the running of the Sam's Town 250 at Memphis Motorsports Park.
  • This will be the first time Tyler has competed at the .750-mile banked asphalt oval in the NASCAR Busch Series. He has competed at the track on one other occasion in Silver Crown cars. On May 8, 2004, Tyler started sixth however only completed 26 of the 100 laps at the .750-mile track. This was Tyler's first event for team owner Kasey Kahne in the Silver Crown series.
  • On other .750-mile tracks in the Silver Crown series (Tulsa, Memphis and Richmond), Tyler has six starts (four on pavement surfaces) and has finished 21st, 5th, 20th (Richmond), 26th (Memphis), and third and first (Tulsa). In his 21st-place finish at Richmond in 2001, he took the lead on lap 91 but spun with five laps remaining.
  • Tyler has competed in one other NASCAR Busch Series race for Akins Motorsports this season. At Pikes Peak International Raceway, Tyler started eighth and finished 27th after experiencing mechanical problems on his No. 38 Great Clips Dodge. He has qualified the Great Clips Dodge at two other events, while Kasey Kahne arrived to compete on raceday. The two events were the Federated Auto Parts 300 at Nashville Superspeedway (qualified 15th) and the Meijer 300 at Kentucky Speedway (qualified 29th).
  • The Great Clips team is taking chassis # 43, which is the same car raced at Richmond International Raceway (started first, finished ninth); New Hampshire International Speedway (started 17th, finished fourth) and The Milwaukee Mile (started sixth, finished fourth).
  • Kasey sits in 11th position in the overall NASCAR Busch Series driver point standings. Last weekend at Lowe's Motor Speedway with Kahne behind the wheel, the team finished 36th after hitting the wall on lap 62 of the 200-lap event.
  • Kaseys results at Charlotte Speedway

Tyler's thoughts on Tyler's Motorsports Park:
"I've raced at Memphis once in a silver crown car, and I liked the track. It should be just as fun to race there in a Busch car I would imagine. It's a nice track, but it can also be tough to pass in certain areas. If you're coming off turn four, then it's not that tough if you can get under someone. Turns one and two are pretty bad as far as passing is concerned unless the driver that you're trying to pass has an ill-handling car. I'm just looking forward to getting out there for Great Clips and hopefully bringing home a good finish for the team."
