Paris, France (Sports Network) - Former champion Serena Williams and former runner-up Venus Williams will be among those seeing opening-round action Tuesday at the French Open. The second-seeded Serena, who beat Venus in the 2002 all-Williams final here, will play her first Grand Slam match in over 10 months when he faces Czech Iveta Benesova on Day 2. Serena hasn't played in a major since besting her big sister Venus in last year's all-sibling Wimbledon final. She missed eight months of action while recovering from knee surgery.

The two-time reigning Wimbledon titlist and six-time Grand Slam champion Serena could meet Venus in the semifinals here.

The fourth-seeded Venus will open her French fortnight against Thai Tamarine Tanasugarn . The four-time major champion Venus lost to fellow American Lisa Raymond in the third round of the Australian Open back in January.

Other top-10 seeds slated for action are No. 6 Russian Anastasia Myskina and No. 7 American Jennifer Capriati . Myskina will meet Aussie Alicia Molik , while the 2001 French Open champion Capriati will battle Ukrainian Yulia Beygelzimer. The three-time Grand Slam titlist Capriati beat Belgian Kim Clijsters in the '01 French final.

Other seeds on the Day-2 schedule include rapidly-rising Russian Svetlana Kuznetsova , American Chanda Rubin and 2000 Roland Garros winner and 1994 runner-up Mary Pierce of France. Rubin will encounter fellow American Shenay Perry, while Pierce will meet Luxembourg's Claudine Schaul, a titlist in Strasbourg over the weekend after she stunned former world No. 1 Lindsay Davenport in the final.

Also on Day 2, the legendary Martina Navratilova will play her first singles tennis at Roland Garros since 1994 when she takes on 19-year-old Argentine Gisela Dulko. The 47-year-old two-time French Open winner asked for and received a wild-card invitation to compete in singles here. She is 0-2 in her previous singles matches this season, with first-round losses coming at Amelia Island and Charleston.
