Oncins quits as Brazilian captain

Sao Paulo, Brazil (Sports Network) - One day after three-time French Open champion quit the Brazilian Davis Cup team, Jaime Oncins stepped down Wednesday as the squad's captain. Also on Wednesday, and followed Kuerten's lead and said they would not play Davis Cup.

Oncins was named team captain just three weeks ago.

On Tuesday, the former world No. 1 Kuerten said he was upset with the captaincy

change and the national tennis federation's lack of player development. He said he would not participate in Brazil's Americas Zone Group I tie against neighboring Paraguay next month.
