The green flag is set to drop on the 2006 O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals on Wednesday, January 11, and Mopar is poised to drive straight to the front of the field. Since a lone Mopar-powered entry was driven by Tony Stewart to the 2002 Chili Bowl championship, the brand has experienced tremendous growth. The 2006 version of the event will feature more than 30 MoPowered entries, setting the stage for one of the greatest final night battles to date. Race drivers expected to compete under the Mopar banner include defending race champion Tracy Hines, 2002 champion Stewart, 2005 National Midget Driver of the Year Brad Kuhn, 2005 USAC National Midget Car Series champion Josh Wise, 2005 USAC National Sprint Car Series champion Levi Jones, NHRA star Morgan Lucas, and USAC standouts Dave Darland and Teddy Beach. Several different engine builders will be represented throughout Team Mopar, including Gary Stanton, Gaerte Engines and Ed Pink Racing Engines. The group will also feature several Sesco Mopar powerplants. Wise, Jones, Hines, Kuhn and Tony Stewart Motorsports driver Paul McMahan are scheduled for a fan meet and greet on Friday, January 13, from 2 to 3 p.m. CST, at the Hooter's display in the O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals trade show. The drivers will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for pictures alongside the Hooters Girls of Tulsa. With entries topping the 270 mark, this year's O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals is lining up to be one of this year's most sought after titles. Mopar-powered drivers will be in pursuit of a $10,000 bonus, offered by the brand to any driver who can win in MoPowered style. The Mopar bonus has been won twice in the event's history. Tony Stewart captured the win and the bonus in 2002, and Hines repeated the feat in 2005. Mopar, Hooters to Offer Chili Bowl Autograph Session

Friday the 13th is, traditionally, an unlucky day. But on Friday, January 13, at 2 p.m. CST, race fans at the O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals will find themselves in luck. Open-wheel standouts Josh Wise, Levi Jones, Tracy Hines, Brad Kuhn and Paul McMahan will invade the Hooters display for a meet and greet session with racing fans. Wise, the 2005 USAC National Midget Car Series champion; Jones, the 2005 USAC National Sprint Car Series champion; Hines, the defending Chili Bowl champion; Kuhn, the National Midget Driver of the Year; and McMahan, the newly signed Tony Stewart Motorsports driver, are scheduled to sign autographs and pose for photos alongside the Hooters Girls at the Hooters booth inside the Tulsa Expo Center. The Hooters display is part of the O'Reilly Chili Bowl Midget Nationals trade show and is open to the public.
