Mauresmo, Dementieva, Myskina reach semis in Moscow

Moscow, Russia (Sports Network) - French star led the parade of quarterfinal winners Friday at the $1.3 million Kremlin Cup indoor tennis event. Red-hot Moscow natives and also charged into the round of four at Olympic Stadium. The second-seeded Mauresmo used all three sets to get past seventh-seeded Russian 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 and set-up a marquee semi against the third-seeded Dementieva, a 6-1, 2-1 victor over injured Italian , who retired in the second set because of a right shoulder injury.

Dementieva, currently ranked eighth in the world, has won her last 10 matches, including back-to-back titles in Bali and Shanghai last month.

The world No. 10 Myskina, seeded fourth this week, is seeking her second title in two weeks, having shocked U.S. Open and French Open champion - Hardenne in last week's title match in Leipzig. Myskina captured her sixth straight match by pasting Greek 6-3, 6-0 on Day 5 here.

Myskina's semifinal opponent will be Israeli Anna Pistolesi, a 6-4, 6-4 victor against Russian .

This week's winner will claim $189,000.
