CONCORD, N.C.

Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge, started third for the running of the Carquest Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Busch Series race at Lowe's Motor Speedway. As Kahne fought his way through the 200-lap event he encountered late-race struggles, which sent him all the way back to finish in 25th position. "What a day," said Kahne. "We had a really good car today, so I can't believe this happened. We started up front but lost some positions during the race due to me getting loose and hitting the wall. When we lost positions we were still able to work our way back into the top 10 because our No. 38 Great Clips Dodge was running so well. With about 15 laps left in the race, I thought I had a flat tire so we had to pit under green flag conditions. That sent us to the back of the field, so it's just unfortunate that this happened because we were running in the top 10 at that point." Kahne is currently 14th in the NASCAR Busch Series overall driver standings. Kyle Busch took the checkered flag followed by Jamie McMurray, Kevin Harvick, Jason Leffler and Tony Stewart to complete the top five.
