TALLADEGA, Ala.

Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge, qualified ninth for Saturday's Aaron's 312 NASCAR Busch Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. Kahne toured the 2.66-mile superspeedway in 52.400 seconds for an average speed of 182.748 miles per hour.

"That was a good lap for us," said Kahne. "I picked up about three tenths from what we ran in practice, so that's good. When it comes to this type of racing at superspeedways, it doesn't really matter where you start. Saturday will be a crazy day of racing, and the biggest thing that we're hoping for is that we can avoid the big wreck that typically happens here."

Clint Bowyer took the NASCAR Busch Series pole with a lap at 184.253 miles per hour in 51.972 seconds. Ron Hornaday, Martin Truex, Jr., Robby Gordon and Mike Bliss completed the top five.

The Aaron's 312 goes green at 2 p.m. EST Saturday. FOX and MRN Radio have live coverage.
