Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 38 Great Clips Dodge, starts third in Saturday's Carquest Auto Parts 300 NASCAR Busch Series race at Lowe's Motor Speedway after posting a lap time of 29.614 seconds.

"Everything was perfect," said Kahne. "I couldn't get anymore out of that lap that what I did out there. It was an awesome car. Paul (Andrews, crew chief) and the entire Great Clips team just gave me the best car that I've ever had at this track. The car was in the track good and the clouds were out during our lap, so everything worked out for us.

"When you're racing at this track, your car needs to be perfect or else a little loose. You can't get around this track if you're tight at all. I'm just real excited about tomorrow's race because we have a great car, and I'm ready to start running up front again."

Kahne is currently 14th in series point standings.

Greg Biffle will start on the pole position for the Carquest Auto Parts 300 after posting a lap time of 29.421 seconds. Kyle Busch, Kahne, Kevin Harvick and Joe Nemechek complete the top five.

The Carquest Auto Parts 300 gets the green flag at 1 p.m. EDT Saturday. FX and PRN radio have live coverage with pre-race coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
