Kahne Returns to Site of First Career NASCAR Busch Series Win

Kahne on Homestead

"Homestead is a special place to me because it is where I won my first career NASCAR race. It was where I realized that my years of hard work had finally paid off. I always look forward to going back to Homestead in hopes that I can repeat that day and add another mark to the win column.

I'm excited about returning to Homestead in the No. 6 Lawry's® Dodge. This team has come a long way since the beginning of the season and has become a consistent contender week in and week out. I feel very lucky that I can go to the race track every weekend and know that I am going to have a car that can qualify up front, run up front and contend for the win. These guys have really done a great job this season and we plan to end this season on a high note, take that momentum with us and start getting ready for 2006."

Kahne at Homestead

In 2003, Kasey Kahne earned his first career NASCAR Busch Series win at Homestead-Miami Speedway. In three Busch Series starts at the track, Kahne has completed 599/ 603 laps (99.3%) and has 29 laps led. He has proved to be a strong qualifier at Homestead as he has started inside the top-five twice and has an average starting position of 6th. Kahne has an average finish of 13.3 with one win and two-top 20 finishes. His lowest finish was a 21st place in 2002.

Wins: 1 (2003) Average start: 6.0
Top 5's: 1 Average finish: 13.3
Top 10's: 1 DNF: 0

Kahne will compete with chassis No. 24 in this weekend's event in Homestead. This is the same chassis that Kahne drove two weeks ago at Texas where he led over 30 laps before a blown right front tire ended his chance for victory.
