SCOUTING REPORT: Adrien has been a steady presence in the paint in the rough-and-tumble Big East for four years, including the last three as a starter for coach Jim Calhoun at Connecticut. A force on the boards despite a diminutive height for his position, he has notched 46 double-doubles in the last three seasons, grabbing his share of rebounds even while playing alongside massive center Hasheem Thabeet in the Huskies' frontcourt. Adrien ranked 19th in the nation with 9.9 rebounds per game as a senior, and knows what it takes to play on the biggest stage as he helped Connecticut reach the Final Four. What the 23-year-old lacks in athleticism and height he makes up for in strength, tenacity and wingspan, overwhelming opponents who aren't prepared for his in-your-face style of play. Adrien's weaknesses - he lacks a reliable jump shot or outside game - will likely prevent him from getting a guaranteed contact as a first-round pick. However, NBA teams know what they're getting with Adrien - a tough player who will not shy away from anybody under the basket. That should earn him a selection in the second round and a chance to come off the bench somewhere in the league.
