Hines Earns $50,000 Payday With Sprint Victory at Eldora Speedway

Tracy Hines picked up his second victory in the Mopar Thunder @ the USAC 4-Crown Nationals event on Sunday morning; driving the Hoffman Auto Racing entry to a win in the feature event. Hines and the Hoffman Auto Racing team earned $25,000 for the victory, bringing Hines' winnings to over $50,000 for the weekend. Jerry Coons Jr., also competed for Hoffman Auto Racing, setting a new track record of 14.712 seconds around the half-mile oval. He was credited with a 20th place finish after an on-track altercation ended his night early. Coons Jr., is ranked seventh in the USAC National Sprint Car Series points chase. Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises' Josh Wise and Levi Jones also battled for position in the event. Wise won the fourth heat race en route to a second-place finish in the feature event. He extended his series points lead over second-place contender Jones. Battling his way through the heat race and semi feature events, Jones was credited with a 17th-place finish. Darren Hagen drove his Keith Kunz owned machine to a sixth-place finish in the feature event. Hagen is currently sixth in the USAC National Sprint Car Series point standings. Brady Bacon made his second series start for Keith Kunz Motorsports, driving to a solid third-place finish in the feature event. The USAC National Sprint Car Series will resume action on October 6-7 at the Terre Haute Action Track.
