Hamilton Jr. charges to win at Memphis

Millington, TN (Sports Network) - . passed with three laps remaining and went on to win the Sam's Town 250 Busch race at the Memphis Motorsports Park. Hamilton Jr. crossed the finish line 1.019 seconds ahead of with Sauter finishing third. The victory was Hamilton Jr.'s third of the season and fourth of his Busch career.

Sauter had taken the lead on lap 180 of the 250-lap event, passing Jr. with an inside move. He held the lead until lap 247 when Hamilton Jr. made his move down the back stretch. Hamilton Jr. used the nose of his No.25 Marines Ford to edge Sauter up the track and slid underneath for the winning pass.

Hamilton Jr. expanded his lead to the finish line as Sauter lost a battle for second with Keller.

Hornaday Jr. and , who led a race-high 152 laps, completed the top-five.

, who came into the race with the series points lead, lost a cylinder on the No.37 Pontiac with about 30 laps to go and finished 19th. The poor finish cost Green the lead in the championship.

Vickers now leads Green by 23 points (4,117-4,094) with four races remaining in the season. Keller is just 34 points behind the leader in third with Hornaday Jr. (-40) and (-44) also in the title chase.

Polesitter was replace in the No.7 Chevrolet by Greg Biffle who crashed early in the race and finished 39th.

The next race in the championship, the Aaron's 312 from the Atlanta Motor Speedway, is scheduled for Saturday, October 25th.
