Position: College: Fresno State Height: 6-3 Weight: 225 40-yard dash: 4.67 Bench press: 390 pounds Hometown: Bakersfield, Calif. At 6-3, 225, Carr has the size that the NFL is looking for in its quarterbacks. He has good footwork and knows how to get himself in the proper form. Carr has a strong and accurate arm with a quick delivery. Not only can he thread the needle with his throws, but he also knows how to put the proper touch on his passes when needed. He is very competitive and a natural leader who makes players around him better. Carr will be helped a lot by the fact that he has spent five years, two as a starter, in a pro-style offense. He did not look that great in 2000, his first year as a starter, but he rebounded this year and has made himself into a legitimate first round pick. On the downside for Carr, he does have a semi-sidearm throwing motion, which will lead to getting some passes knocked down. He also can be streaky during games. Because he has such a strong arm, Carr will try and force passes into tight coverage. He is not slow and can get outside, but he does not do a good job of buying time with his scrambling. Carr played in the Senior Bowl and did nothing but help his chances of being the first quarterback taken in the draft, if not the first player drafted.
