Berrian is a big play receiver and was a productive college player when healthy. After his breakout season in 2001, when he caught 85 passes for 1,364 yards and 13 scores, he was forced to sit out all but the first game of the '02 campaign with a knee injury. Due to a strong work ethic, Berrian was able to make a successful return in '03, putting up impressive numbers as a receiver and returner, and he even rushed 13 times for 171 yards and two scores. He has top speed and the ability to make defenders miss as well as being an invaluable special teams player, having returned punts and kicks for the Bulldogs with great success. Berrian has tremendous vision as a returner and can explode from anywhere on the field. He was a preseason All-American and Biletnikoff Award Candidate. He possesses confident hands but needs to improve his route running and his ability to concentrate when catching on the run. A strong work ethic allowed him to come back from injury and should only help his development as a NFL receiver.
