Team Mopar's Josh Wise earned his 13th Fast Qualifier award of the 2006 racing season at O'Reilly Raceway Park in USAC National Silver Crown Series competition on August 3. Wise drove the No. 14 A.J. Foyt-owned, Mopar-powered machine on a lap of 21.653 seconds to earn the honor. When the green flag dropped on the J.D. Byrider 100, Wise quickly jumped out to a commanding lead, which he held until lap 38. After contact with Brian Tyler, Wise's machine hit the wall and was retired for the evening. He was credited with an eighth-place finish in the feature event.

Wise and his Tony Stewart Racing Enterprises' teammate Levi Jones returned to USAC National Silver Crown Series action in the Sumar Classic 100 on August 5 at the Terre Haute Action Track. Wise qualified in seventh position, with Jones tripping the clock at 11th quick. Both the No. 10 and No. 22 machines were on the move to the front, when Donnie Beechler flipped on lap 16, catching Wise up in the crash. Wise's No. 10 machine was retired for the night. Jones restarted and made a march to the front of the field to earn a hard-fought third-place finish.

The USAC National Silver Crown Series will return to action on August 19 at the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Wise is currently ranked eighth in the series point championship standings. For more information regarding the USAC National Silver Crown Series, log on to usacracing.com.
