KASEY KAHNE ATLANTA RACE RECAP

HAMPTON, GA - Kasey Kahne, driver of the No. 38 Great Clips Ford, started 13th for the running of the Aaron's 312 NASCAR Busch Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.  By lap 75, he had moved into the top 10 and even reached as high as first on lap 115 before finishing the 203-lap event in seventh position.

"We should have finished second or third today," said Kahne.  "We definitely had the car to do it. We drove all the way up through the field, and then I ran out of gas on pit road.  Unfortunately, that pit stop was under green flag, so we lost quite a few positions.  Once you get behind all of those cars, it's really hard to get back up front. I just kept fighting all day, and luckily we were able to bring home another top-10 finish for Great Clips.

"When we were racing around and cars were spread out, it was easy to get through lapped traffic.  When you're racing in packs, it just kills you, and lapped cars are out there racing like it's for position."

Kahne currently sits in seventh in the NASCAR Busch Series overall driver point standings.

Winston Cup regular Greg Biffle took the checkered flag, followed by Matt Kenseth, Bobby Hamilton, Jr., Michael Waltrip and Hank Parker, Jr., complete the top five.
