Edmonton beats Val-d'Or 4-3 in 3rd OT

LONDON, Ontario (AP) Curtis Lazar scored at 2:42 of the third overtime to give the Edmonton Oil Kings a 4-3 victory over the Val-d'Or Foreurs on Friday night in the longest game in Memorial Cup history.
Western Hockey League champion Edmonton will face the Guelph Storm in the championship game Sunday night. The Ontario Hockey League champion Storm finished round-robin play 3-0, beating Edmonton 5-2 on May 17 in the tournament opener for both teams. On Tuesday night, Val-d'Or beat Edmonton 4-3 in double overtime.
Val-d'Or defenseman Guillaume Gelinas forced overtime, scoring with 36 seconds left in regulation with Bibeau off for an extra attacker.
Phil Pietroniro and Randy Gazzola added goals for Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champion Val-d'Or. Bibeau made 50 saves.
At 102 minutes, 42 seconds, the game broke the tournament record of 95:41 set in London in 2005 when the Ottawa 67's beat the Kelowna Rockets in double overtime.
On Tuesday night, Val-d'Or beat Edmonton lost 4-3 in double overtime.
