Johnson closed with a two-over 74 on Sunday at the U.S. Open to finish one-under and tied for 27th.
Johnson hit 86 percent of the fairways in regulation throughout his four rounds, but he hit just 47-of-72 greens in regulation. He began 2017 at No. 38 in the Official World Golf Ranking, but has fallen to No. 69 due to a spell of mediocrity. He'll be in the field for this week's Travelers Championship, where he has made the cut five times in his last six attempts.
Johnson closed with an even-par final round 72 at the Memorial Tournament to finish in a tie for 40th place.
Johnson only made nine bogeys this week, which was tied for the eighth fewest in the field, but had three doubles that hurt his chances at a top-25. Johnson was uncharacteristically off with the putter as he was 71st in SG: Putting and T60 in putts per GIR. He did finish the week in second, however, in SG: Around-the-green. Johnson has made 10 of 14 cuts, but just four top-25 finishes. By comparison he had nine such finishes last season and 16 in 2015. Johnson is not in the field for this week's FedEx St. Jude Classic.
Johnson closed with a one-under 71 in the final round of the Wells Fargo Championship to finish in a tie for 18th place.
Johnson made six birdies to three bogeys and a double-bogey to card 71 on Sunday. He had a solid all around week finishing inside the top-25 in both strokes gained putting and strokes gained tee-to-green. This is Johnson's fourth top-25 in 11 starts this season. His best finish came back in January at the Sony Open when he was T6. Johnson will look for a strong showing at THE PLAYERS Championship this week. He finished T2 here back in 2012.
