It will come as no surprise, but Tiger Woods will kick of 2014 at his personal playground, otherwise known as Torrey Pines, for the Farmers Insurance Open.

Woods has won the tournament seven times and also was victorious in the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

The tournament is Jan. 23-26.

He'll play the following week at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, making his seventh appearance in the event he has won twice (2006 and 2008).

"Obviously, I've had a great deal of success at Torrey," Woods said on his website, "Both courses suit my eye. Hopefully, I can use the tournament as a springboard to a big 2014 season.

"I appreciate the support I have received from the people in Dubai, and I have always enjoyed playing in the tournament. They always attract a strong field, and the course is in top shape."

Woods won five times in 2013 and was named PGA Tour Player of the Year despite not winning a major.
