Alexander Noren of Sweden shot a second straight 6-under 66 at the Scottish Open to take a one-stroke lead midway through the second round on Friday.

For some golfers, the biggest prizes aren't their tournament wins but their wives and girlfriends.

Noren, who turned 30 on Thursday, made six birdies and an eagle at Castle Stuart to move clear of big-hitting Argentine Ricardo Gonzalez (64) on 12 under. S.S.P. Chowrasia of India is on 10 under after a 67.

Former No. 1 Martin Kaymer bogeyed two of his last three holes for a 68, dropping back to a share of fifth place on 9 under. Phil Mickelson shot a 64 to lie five shots off the pace.

Noren, ranked No. 89, moved into contention for the $645,000 first prize the day after his girlfriend, Emelie, won a women's tour event in Norway.
